James Burroughs

The man behind Body Clinic

 BSc Sport Exercise and Performance Therapist

You have one chance to deliver, and must be able to harness the adrenalin, bring together all the aspects of mental and physical preparation, and utilise the years of practice to pull a result out of the bag when the pressure is on. As an ex-elite motorcycle trials and motorcycle enduro competitor, James understands the focus required and sacrifices necessary to achieve competitive goals.
As James competed at increasingly high level, experienced his fair share of injuries from a young age and began to understand how much fluctuating fitness affected the quality of his riding, he became fascinated with understanding how to condition the body, and how to fix it when injury struck, studying this for his University degree.
His lifelong passion for racing steered his career away from a purely gym-based role as sports therapist, personal trainer and rehabilitation specialist towards the field of competitive motorsport, permitting him to apply his considerable knowledge and practical experience to assist riders, drivers and race teams to get the very best from their athletes on an ongoing basis – event after event, country after country – regardless of the demands placed upon them.
If you don’t believe, you can’t achieve.
James’ later qualifications delved further into the psychology of the athlete, enabling him to deliver his clients a full package for success: personal exercise regimes and conditioning, nutrition, rehabilitation and massage, along with the psychology so vital to the focus and drive of any sportsperson, whatever their competition level.
James’ clients include British and World Championship motorsport winners, well-known celebrities and professionals working throughout the motorsport arena in a variety of different disciplines.
